DaxScan AI ("we", "our", or "the app") is a document scanning application that operates entirely on your local network. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application and desktop companion software.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

DaxScan AI does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to external servers:

• Scanned documents or images
• Extracted text from OCR processing
• Personal information or user data
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Device identifiers or location data
• Network information beyond local connection requirements

3. How DaxScan AI Works

DaxScan AI operates on a peer-to-peer model within your local area network (LAN):

• Local Processing: All OCR text recognition happens on your Android device using Google ML Kit
• Network Communication: Data transfers only between your mobile device and desktop computer on your local network
• No Cloud Storage: No documents, images, or text are uploaded to any cloud service
• Session-Based: Connections use temporary session tokens that expire when you close the application

4. Permissions Required

The Android app requires the following permissions to function:

Camera Permission

Required to capture document images. Images are processed locally and transmitted only to your connected desktop computer on your local network.

Network/Internet Permission

Required to establish socket connections with your desktop application on your local network. No external internet connections are made for data transmission.

Wake Lock Permission

Prevents your device from sleeping during active scanning sessions to maintain stable network connections.

5. Data Storage and Retention

• Mobile App: No documents or text are permanently stored. All data is held in temporary memory during active sessions only.
• Desktop App: You control all storage. Scanned images and extracted text are saved only if you choose to save them on your local computer.
• No Cloud Backup: We do not maintain any backup copies of your data.

6. Third-Party Services

DaxScan AI uses the following third-party technology:

Google ML Kit (On-Device)

Text recognition (OCR) is performed using Google's ML Kit, which processes data entirely on your device. No data is sent to Google servers during OCR processing. ML Kit operates in on-device mode for complete privacy.

No Analytics or Advertising

We do not integrate any analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking technologies.

7. Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your local network communications:

• Session token-based authentication between mobile and desktop apps
• Local network-only operation (no external server communication)
• Temporary session data that is cleared when the app closes

8. Children's Privacy

DaxScan AI does not knowingly collect any information from children. The app is designed for general productivity use and does not target children specifically. Since no data is collected or transmitted to external servers, there are no special considerations for users under 13.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Since DaxScan AI does not collect or store your personal data on external servers:

• You maintain complete control over all scanned documents and text
• You can delete any saved files directly from your computer
• You can uninstall the app at any time, and no data will remain on our servers (because we don't have any)
